Language Learning Vacations in France

Learn French while discovering the Chateaux of the Loire Valley, the museums of Paris, the secrets of Provence, the wines of Bordeaux or the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean. Our French Language Learning Vacations are designed for independent adult travelers of any age who share a passion for the language, culture and cuisine.

Classes are held every morning with optional activities and excursions in the afternoon. If you prefer, you may also use your free time on afternoons and weekends to explore the city of your choice and the unique history of the surrounding region. Available housing includes your choice of fully furnished apartments, hotels with private bath, or rooms in private homes. Programs ranging from one week to three months are offered year round. In addition, all participants may select to begin or end their learning vacation with an optional 2-day, 2-night visit of Paris (except for those in the Paris program).

Choice of Locations

FAE offers programs in six different cities across France, each with its own beauty and charm. Select a city below to find out more about the programs we offer.

Aix-en-Provence Discover the boulevards, squares and bubbling fountains of Aix-en-Provence. Give your feet a break at the many sidewalk cafés, peruse the bookshops to your heart's content, or cultivate your interests in the city's numerous museums, art galleries and cultural events.

Bordeaux As one of the most well-known wine-producing areas of the world, Bordeaux provides you with numerous opportunities to visit some of the best vineyards and chateaux of the region. The city boasts an excellent local transportation network, but exploring the lively neighborhoods and magnificent building facades of the Old City can easily be done on foot.

Montpellier Sun, sea, music, dance, theater festivals; Montpellier has it all. Enjoy the Spanish bullfights in May, the Jazz festivals in the summer or just delight yourself in the city's numerous typical outdoor cafés and restaurants.

Nice Offering the secrets and beauty of the French Riviera, Nice is often referred to as the jewel of the south. Explore the city's pen-air markets, stroll down the pebble beaches, or visit picturesque villages.

Paris Without doubt one of the most beautiful European cities. The abundance of art, culture, museums, monuments and exhibits as well as its many cafes make Paris the perfect place to learn French.

Tours As it was at the heart of France's first renaissance, Tours abounds with cultural heritage. It also offers easy access to all the royal castels and gardens of the Loire valley as well as being a one-hour train ride from Paris.
